The Embassy of India, Kathmandu invites online applications for Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Scheme (MGSS) and Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (GJSS) from Nepali nationals studying in Nepal.
The Online Application may be submitted through the web portal www.goischolarship.com.np.
The last date for submission of the application is December 16, 2022.
MAHATMA GANDHI
SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2022-23
1. Eligibility:
1. The candidate should be a regular student of Class 11th in any recognized educational institute in Nepal.
2. Proof of student studying in Class 11th attested by Principal / Head of Institute to be uploaded.
3. Candidate should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks at the High School (Class 10th). Mark- Sheet of Class 10th to be uploaded.
4. The candidate should be a citizen of Nepal. Citizenship Certificate of self or parent to be uploaded.
5. Proof in respect of physically challenged candidates issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head is to be uploaded.
6. The family income of the candidate must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- per annum. Income proof issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head to be uploaded.

Note: Those who are receiving scholarships from any other source are not eligible to apply.
2. Scholarship Amount and Duration:
1. Selected students will get a scholarship for NRs. 2,000/- per month.
2. The scholarship will continue in the second year provided that the awardees clear class 11.

3. The student should submit a copy of the class 11 passed mark sheet along with the present status of the student stating that he/she is studying in class 12 authenticated (with seal) by the principal/administrator of the college/institute.
4. The documents should be submitted latest by November 2023 either physically at the Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu or the Consulate General of India, Birgunj or via email: attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov.in, failing which the scholarship may be terminated.
5. The scholarship will be discontinued if the awardee fails in Class 11 or discontinues study or for any other valid reason.
GOLDEN JUBILEE
SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2022-23
1. Eligibility:1. The candidate should be a regular Undergraduate student in 1st Year in any recognized educational institute in Nepal.
2. Proof of student studying in graduate/degree course attested by Principal/Head of Institute to be uploaded.
3. Candidate should have secured at least 70% aggregate marks at the Intermediate Level (Class 12th / Plus Two). Mark- Sheet of Class 12th / Plus Two to be uploaded.
4. The candidate should be a citizen of Nepal. Citizenship Certificate of self or parent to be uploaded.
5. Proof in respect of physically challenged candidates issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head is to be uploaded.
6. The family income of the candidate must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- per annum. Income proof issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head to be uploaded.

Age Limit: Applicants should be between 17 to 22 years of age as on 1st July 2023.
Note:
(i) Those who are receiving scholarships from any other source are not eligible to apply.
(ii) Please do not include Class 11 marks.
(iii) Diploma courses are not eligible for the scholarship.
2. Scholarship Amount and Duration:
1. The scholarship will continue in the second and subsequent years provided that the awardees continue to study and pass in the first and subsequent years.
2. The student should submit each year’s passed marks sheet (except for the final year) along with the present status of his/her study, authenticated by the Head/administrator(with seal) of the institute/college.
3. The documents should be submitted latest by the second week of December either physically at the Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu or the Consulate General of India, Birgunj or via email: attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov.in, failing which the scholarship may be terminated.
4. The scholarship will be discontinued if the awardee fails successively in two semesters or discontinue study or for any other valid reason.
